Two bus stations forming part of the Inner-City Integrated Rapid Transit System (IRT) were planned to serve the new Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. The two stations are located within the road reserves of Western Boulevard and the recently constructed Granger Bay Boulevard. The Cape Town zoning scheme requires consent applications to erect special buildings (bus stations) and also to erect buildings in an area zoned Street Purposes Zone. @Planning prepared and submit the required applications on behalf of the consultant team.

@Planning’s tasks included the following:

  • Scrutinized previous approvals related to the Green Point Stadium to ensure consent applications were consistent with previous approvals
  • Prepare application report with full motivation in terms of the Land Use Planning Ordinance
  • Submit the application and ensure its successful processing through the municipality
